We all worship the sun
The dawn rises slowly, its tempo decreasing exponentially as it creeps up into the heavens. The clouds unbutton their gossamer blouse, exposing cleavage of sunbeam shower in the sky. The rays of light scatter through the morning dew, refracting & organizing themselves into every color of the visual spectrum as they travel faster than anything else in the universe right into my eyes.

The light of distant fusion seeps into the sky, eviscerating the night, as the earth turns at just over 1,000 miles per hour. We spin—slowly, steadily, fervently—creating a new day. I feel the heat of two colliding, smashing atoms that is over eight minutes old. The afterimage of the warmth of their embrace illuminates everything around me. I bask; in the sunlight. I close my eyes. But I still feel it all around me.
